Lake Cabin Starts on Site

Site works is due to begin next week on the construction of a new contemporary lake cabin. The project is influenced by the tradition of a folly, by designing a small unique building which is highly detailed. The building will cantilever over a lake with glass facing out across the lake and a jetty leading out. The roof will be covered in a seamed pre weathered brass which is combined with rough sawn Scottish larch cladding. The materials have been selected to encourage them to naturally weather and blend with the environment.

The interior is to be finished in a limed douglas fir and has a kitchen/dining/living space with fantastic views. The site is set near the Kent Downs AONB and is approached through privately owned woodland.

Completion is due for mid December.
