RXA And Martello Host Public Consultation For Arts Scheme

RXA hosted a public consultation over Rye Arts festival alongside Martello Developments to present the latest design proposals for the redevelopment of the Rock Channel Area in Rye. The proposals include a new riverfront restaurant, a riverfront walkway and riverside public park space, new housing and a new mixed use arts building. The Arts building will contain permanent gallery and exhibition spaces, an art library, performance and rehearsal spaces along with purpose built artist studios. This will also incorporate some accommodation within the building to host a programme of artists in residence.

The consultation was very well attended with several hundred making the trip to the site to see the proposals along with a pop up art exhibition on the site. Feedback will be carefully considered so that the designs can now be progressed with the intention of submitting a full planning application by the end of 2018.
