This scheme involves the remodelling and extension of an existing property located in the village of Bossingham, within the Kent Downs AONB.
The new first floor extension has been carefully designed to maximise daylight and views over the Kent downs and adjoining farmland. The roof is pitched in reference to the neighbouring houses and internally creates a generous light filled living, kitchen and dining space. The living space is linked directly to the garden by a new staircase cut into the sloping roof with a large skylight above creating a dramatic double height volume. Full height sliding doors at ground floor level link the individual rooms together bringing the light and garden views deep into the building interior.
Black stained timber cladding and flint walling reflect the local vernacular while crisp detailing to pitched roof form lends the house a contemporary aesthetic.
